Namık Kemal'in düşüncesinde siyaset ve teknik ilişkisi

The Ottoman nineteenth century is faced with complex confusion in terms of determining a paradigm. The period called Tanzimat contains several complex structures and narratives. Because of that one of the critical questions of the late Ottoman political and intellectual history is the characterization problem of Ottoman modernization experience in the nineteenth century. There are some tendencies of interpretation to the Ottoman nineteenth century, but mainstream viewpoints are so far explaining a Tanzimat phenomenon. While developing technic, at the same time, the politics and social life in the Ottoman Empire were transformed. Technic was a dominating instrument on the politics, which was beyond the mechanic. By this means, Namik Kemal was a unique figure handling the relationship of the politics and technic in the Ottoman nineteenth century. In this study, several concepts like knowledge (ilim), technic (fünûn), education (maarif), progress (terakki) in Namik Kemal's thought are reference points understanding the relationship of the politics and technic. This study offers to draw a brief portrait of the Ottoman nineteenth century following selected keynotes and events, and then it determines to the position of Namik Kemal with the perspective of the politics and technic.
