Abstract (EN)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO 2017) predicts that the world population will reach 9.1 billion in 2050. The lack of fertile lands to be used in agricultural production and the decrease in agricultural areas per capita with population growth, the existence of problems such as erosion, salinization, pH, compaction, pollution, loss of organic matter, lack of mineral nutrients in the soil make the use of new technologies in agricultural production inevitable. In this study, the definition of nanotechnology and nanoscience, which is seen as a technology revolution in the new century and which is expected to take place in all areas of life after 2025, has been made. In addition, how a substance changes as it goes down to nano dimensions, nano manufacturing processes, tools used in nanotechnology and application areas of nanotechnology are discussed. In order to better understand the effect of nanotechnology on the agricultural market, its effect on production materials was examined, and the production types were evaluated by determining the enterprises that produce with nanotechnology in agricultural production in the provinces of Thrace in Turkey (Tekirdağ, Edirne and Kırklareli).
