An analysis on Nasir Mensuri?s novel `Avava? master thesis contemporary turkish literature studies

This study has been carried out to elucidate the work of Nasır Mensuri?s work `Avava?. Nasır Mensuri was born in the city of Miyana in Azerbaijan. The author concentrating on philological works has two novels named Qaraçuxa and Avava.The reason behind the choice of the author Nasir MENSURİ for the thesis is that Mensuri remains to be a fore leading representative of contemporary literature in Southern Azerbeijan. Nasır Mensuri?s 342-paged and in-Arabic-written- Avava titled novel was first transcripted into Latin alphabet and analyzed at lateral stages. The novel was analyzed from different dimensions. Henceforth, Turkish readers were attempted to be given a taste of Southern Azerbaijani literature to a certain level, thereby forming a reference source for the Azerbaijan literature.The thesis primarily elucidates background info on Southern Azerbaijani Literature with succinct info on the life, literary life and works of Mensuri. After this very section, the postmodernism has been covered, subsequented by the summary of Avava novel. Finally, the groups of characters in the novel were elaborated under general headings of time, place and sequence of events.The heroine of the novel is a woman whose name is not mentioned. Apart from her, The God of Captivity and Humay are leading characters at a second level. In the flashbacks of the novel, the woman?s university life and afterwards are mentioned. The God of Captivity and Humay gain emphasis as they have the most influential impact on the woman?s lifeFinally, this post modern novel work occupies a very important place among the master pieces put forth in the South Azerbaijani literature.Key Words: Avava, Nasır Mensuri, Güney Azerbaycan.
