Analysis of Nasreddin Hodja's jokes based on logic

In this thesis, Nasreddin Hodja?s jokes are classiffied based on Logic including an analysis and assessment for each exemplary joke according to the principles of Sound Logic, Reasons Of Making Fallacies, Logical Fallacies and Ways of Preventing Fallacies. The introduction includes information about Nasreddin Hodja relating both to his character and his sense of humour as displayed through his jokes. In the first part, jokes are analysed based on the principles of Sound Logic. A total number of fifty two jokes are found to gather under twenty four sub-topics where more examples were available for ?Dialectic? , ?If so? or ?Modus Ponens?. In the second part, jokes are analysed based on the principles of Reasons Of Making Fallacies identifying logical gaps in reasoning. A total number of twenty two jokes are examined under thirteen sub-topics where more examples fell under ?Addition Ad Hoc ? and ?Many Questions?. In the third part, jokes are analysed based on the principles of Logical Fallacies. A total number of sixty jokes are examined under thirty two sub-topics and more examples fell under ?Synonym?, ?post hoc ergo propter hoc?and ?Cum hoc ergo propter hoc?. In the fourth part, a total number of fourty seven jokes are analysed based on the principles of Ways Preventing From Fallacies under seventeen sub-topics. In conclusion a total number of ninety eight Nasreddin Hodja?s Jokes are systematically classified on the basis of Logic under eighty seven sub-topics.
