Abstract (EN)

Nâzım Hikmet is one of the influential authors of Turkish Literature in the Republican Era. Nâzım Hikmet took an active role in the history of Turkish literature and in Turkish political history and managed to be effective. He reflected his experiences through his political worldview within the framework of his sense of art in his publications. Nâzım Hikmet, who could indite historical events from different perspectives, has been the pioneer of "content-form" innovation in Turkish literature by using verse libre technique in his poems. We tried to determine and analyze the political criticism of the Ottoman Empire, which was discussed in this work "Simavne Kadısı Oğlu Şeyh Bedreddin Destanı" of Nâzım Hikmet. When we look at the issues we have gathered in four chapters, we found that the political events had an impact on the formation of the artist personality of Nâzım Hikmet and this effect was directly reflected on the work Simavne Kadısı Oğlu Şeyh Bedreddin Destanı. In this study, Simavne Kadısı Oğlu Şeyh Bedreddin Destanı of Nâzım Hikmet, has been analyzed and political criticisms against Ottoman Empire have been determined. The work, which was written with a Marxist-socialist world view, was examined in the context of political criticism. Our study consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, while the life and literary personality of Nâzım Hikmet were mentioned, in the second and third chapters the concepts and political formations that constitute the political identity of Nâzım Hikmet were mentioned. In the fourth chapter, Nâzım Hikmet's critical attitude was revealed by content analysis.
