Abstract (EN)

The self and the soul are concepts closely related to the existence of human beings, and they are the basic issues that are the source of the questions that people seek answers in the world of thought. This situation has been thought and discussed throughout the history of humanity and has been tried to be explained with both religious and non-religious references. In addition, it has been one of the issues that are frequently emphasized in the works of poets, writers and intellectuals who grew up in societies. The concepts of self-soul and matter-signification have taken their place among the concepts that are frequently emphasized and given importance in the religion of Islam. As a matter of fact, self-soul and matter-signification, which religion emphasizes, have been concepts that are frequently encountered in literature and literary works influenced by Islam. In particular, in the Islamic period Turkish literature and in the eyes of mystic poets, the self and the soul were handled as a much more important issue, the view of religion on these concepts and their effects on people were mentioned. Therefore, in this study, it is emphasized that the concepts of self and soul in Necip Fazıl Kısakürek's life and in his work Çile, who are fed by tradition and have an important place in Turkish literature, are discussed. In the study, firstly, a brief information about the poet's life is given. Because it is thought that giving place to the events and persons that are effective in the formation of the spiritual climate of the poet while writing his works will allow a more accurate assessment of his works. Besides the life of the poet, his works are also introduced. Considering that it will form a basis when evaluating the concepts of self-soul and matter-signification in the works of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, it has been deemed appropriate to touch on the treatment of these concepts in Islam and how the approach to the soul and spirit is. Necip Fazıl's works, which are a reflection of his inner world; They are notable for the deep Islamic consciousness and mystical thoughts they contain. This matter; It has been the reason for preference in terms of putting forward a study to understand his spirit world. While the concepts of self and soul, which we discussed in the context of the poet's poems in Çile, constitute the main topics in the study, the meanings that Necip Fazıl attributed to the "spirit" and his stance against the substance in the face of meaning were examined. As a result, when we examine the works of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, especially his poetry book "Çile", it has been seen that the concepts of self and soul have an important place in the poet's life and works.
