The reasoning on Necmettin Erbakan's discourses

Discourses are the leading factors that affect political attitudes and behaviors. The reasoning in Necmettin Erbakan's discourses has an importance in Turkish political scene and it is also important for raising future politicians of Turkey. The method of this post-graduate thesis is content analysis. Since the reasoning in Erbakan's discourses was primarily analysed, it was the first subject matter that adressed in the thesis. As for the second chapter, the political discourse by the subject matter was explained. Definition of political discourse and its coexistence with reasoning that appeal to people's mind are perhaps the most essential needs of Turkish political life. The first two chapter were intended for presenting the ways of preserving mind from making mistakes, being able to give the right decision by analyzing reasoning and ratiocination in political discourse. In the third chapter, the examples from Necmettin Erbakan's life and discourses were discussed. General informations were given in this chapter in order to shed light on chapter four. In the framework of the general informations given in the first three chapter, the content anaylysis done by analyzing Necmettin Erbakan's assembly speech on April 22, 1996 in chapter four. In the content analysis part, discourses of Necmettin Erbakan's were analyzed in terms of reasoning. In conclusion, Necmettin Erbakan's ability in political discourse is remarkable. His definition of topics by sectioning them in different sections, his frequently usage of scientific data and his persuasion-orianted efforts are exceptional. It is remarkable that he divided the topics into sections, made comparisions between statistics and scientific data and made use of comparisions frequently in his speech.
