Economi̇c transformati̇on and symboli̇c reproducti̇on of space i̇n the li̇ght of neoli̇beral ci̇ty poli̇ci̇es: Example of Gazi̇antep Bey di̇stri̇ct

Neoliberal economy atmosphere, regarding the assumption of capital accumulation wich is obliged to maintain this consitent atmosphere, defines the categories that target maximizing the profit at all costs. Urban, as a spatial location, is also one of the categories which enables to provide the capital accumulation. Probably the most crucial one. Neoliberal urban policies, in apparent dialect, are decorated with the reflex act which is hosted by the dynamics of the commodification of urban. Mostly it is based on economical background. Also it is a machinery that triggers the cultural and social transformation, rotation and of course renovation. Gaziantep Bey District is a location that inbounds this very atmosphere. Ergo this place is in the zone of influence of this atmosphere. The aim of this text is to pinpoint the location of Bey District in this atmosphere by considering the notion of the gentrification. As a matter of fact, urban associates the geography directly and also generates the connection with the culture that lives in it. Existence of human factor adresses to this specific point. İt is casted as an organism that breathes and is affected by periodic cultural differences rather than a pile of concrete and rubble. Therefore Gaziantep Bey District varies from the other similar locations which have the reflex of neoliberal urban policies. The cultural and social dıfferences can designate the reason on this occasion.
