Neoliberal kentsel dönüşüm ve gündelik hayatta idare etme sanati: Adana Yeşiloba örneği

In my thesis, I am tracing the effects of socio-spatial split on the youth in the urban space during the Neoliberal era. While doing so, I set off from the example of Yeşiloba Neighborhood which is about the witness urban transformation soon. I tried to indicate the stance that the young people took in this neighborhood which has witnessed -and still witnessing- the process of urban transformation and has already been covered by hotels and shopping centers. Throughout this process, instead of leading from a single reason or result of urban transformation, I tried to present a holistic image of transformation by focusing on the everyday life in the neighborhood. In order to provide this holism and establish a connection with the micro lives in the neighborhood and global/national/local economic and political system, I attempted to represent a summary of welfare and neoliberal state which superseded the previous one. As opposed to the understanding seeing poor people as ''inactive consumers'', I benefited from De Certeau's the conceptual work and tried to understand how ''weak's strategies'' worked against ''strong's strategies''. Like Lefebvre said, instead of trying to understand the mechanisms of ''prestigious ones'' and ''power'', I tried to comprehend the ''resistance forms'' in the ordinariness of everyday life.
