Abstract (EN)

In this study, five different dry weight doses of Cladophora glomerata and Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis algae (2 g, 4 g and 6 g; 8 g, 10 g; and their mixtures as 50%+50%) were applied three times as liquid to the soil in order to develop and determine the most suitable growing media for Mentha spicata species. The experiment was conducted in 7-liter pots in the Greenhouse of the Biology Department between 22.10.2021 and 24.03.2022 with three replications. During the study, some distinguishing characteristics of mint quality such as shortest and longest branch length, root length, fresh and dry stem weight, fresh and dry root weight, number of leaves, average branch/leaf ratio, chlorophyll a yield were examined. The highest wet weight gain was realized as 165% in Cld1.0 group, 26% in Spr0.6 group and 32% in C+S0.8 group compared to the control group. It was observed that algal treatments generally gave better results than the control group in mint plants.
