Comparison of F2 offsprings of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)for grain yield and yield components

Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out in Dicle University Faculty of Agriculture during the spring season in 2020. Genetic parameters and general and specific adaptability were estimated for plant and agricultural traits in 4 parents and their 6 F2 combinations obtained from their half-diallel crossbreeding in chickpea. The study was carried out randomized complete blocks design with 3 replications. In the study, days to 50% emergence, days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering, days to first pod emergence, 100 seed weight, plant seed yield, plant height, number of branches, leaves, pods per plant, plant and stem fresh and dry weight, leaf area, leaf dry weight, internode length, the first flower node number, internode thickness, anthracnose disease, canopy, lodging habitus, normalized vegetation difference index (NDV) were examined. Additive genetic variance was significant for days to first flowering, plant height, 100 seed weight, number of leaves per plant, internode length, anthracnose disease and lodging. The dominant gene effect was significant for seed yield per plant, number of branches, pods and branches per plant, leaf area, leaf dry weight, the first flower node number. In the narrow sense heritability degree was 0.42 in the plant height, 0.12 in the number of pods per plant, and 0.77 100 seeds weight. The highest plant seed yield was obtained from Çağatay x Ak 71114 hybrid and the highest 100 grain weight was obtained from Spanish parent, followed by Çağatay x Spanish crossbred.
