Abstract (EN)

Aim:In this study,it is going to compare with MPV(mean platelet volume),fibrinogen and procalcitonin levels in normal pregnancy and missed abortion group of patients in order to elucidate the thrombotic and infectious factors in missed abortion etiology.Materials and Methods: There were 30 patients who applied to Celal Bayar University Obstetrics and Gynecology departmant were diagnosed with missed abortion with or without the evacuation decision of gestational. It was taken 30 patients who had without chronic disease, uncomplicated current pregnancy and they were being followed up under the 20th gestational week of their pregnancy. In a week it is taken to blood samples from missed abortion diagnosed patients and with normal pregnancy patients who for detaction of MPV(mean platelet volume),fibrinogen and procalcitonin. Both group of patients age, gravida, obstetric history, history, medical histories were recorded. Results in both groups were statistically compared using SPSS-17 program. Results:The average age group of missed abortous is 30 and the average age group of normal preganancy is 27.In the study 12 of the 30 women who has missed fact and 11 of the 30 women from control group are nullipar. There is no significant difference between the two groups in terms of background of Obstetrics.None of the patients in control or missed group has no consanguinity or Rh incompatibility. The average week of pregnancy for missed group is 10 and for the control group of patients is 13.From laboratory results, average procalcitonin level is 0,035±0,016 for missed group and 0,030±0,017 forcontrol group of patients. It is found that the average fibrinogen values for missed group were 399±104 and for control group patients were 317±124.Although it is found that procalcitonin and fibrinogen values were higher in missed group of patients but there was no statistically significant difference.(respectively sırasıyla p:0,110 and p:0,090).From the results the average MPV level is 8,95±1,42 for missed group and 7±1,95 for control group patients. We found that a statistically significantly higher MPV value, which was considered to be thrombotic factor, for missed group of patients. (p<0,00001) Average platelet values, which we evaluated with MPV,were 235±82 in missed group and 197±50 in control group of patients. We found that a statistically significantly higher than that in missed group to the control group. (p:0,005)Conclusion: According to a healthy pregnancy in cases of missed abortion MPV value is high, the etiology of missed abortion may be considered to reflect thrombotic process. Prothrombotic-thrombotic factor, or an infectious case of pregnancy loss may change the balance. The formation of a healthy pregnancy and for the continuation of thrombotic, infectious factors is essential to a distant maternal status.Key words: missed abortion, procalcitonin, MPV, fibrinogen
