Alexithymia and anger expression style in obesity patients

The aim of the research is to examine the differentiation of the forms of social, anger and anger expression in obese and non-obese women. One of the main objectives of the study is to examine the predictive effect of aleksin on persistent anger and anger expression styles in obese women. In addition, it was aimed to test the differentiation of the alekstimi, continuous anger and anger expression styles of obese women according to the demographic factors in the study. In this context, the research was conducted with the participation of 70 obese and 70 non-obese women. Toronto Alexithymia Scale and Continuous Anger and Anger Expression Scale were used in the data collection phase of the study. Chi-square test, Independent samples T-test, ANOVA, Correlation analysis and Regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Differences in the research revealed that obese women had higher levels of alexithymia, difficulty in defining emotions, difficulty in expressing feelings, outbursts of thought, constant anger, controlled anger, outburst anger and internal anger levels compared to non-obese women. As a result of the relational tests conducted in the research, the persistent anger levels of obese women are predicted by the difficulty in expressing emotions; the level of anger taken under control is predicted by the difficulty of expressing emotions and outrageous thought; outburst levels of anger were predicted by the difficulty of expressing emotions.
