The effect of obesity on quality of life during pregnancy

Object: The impact of obesity on the quality of life during pregnancy is aimed to support the studies conducted in our country. Materials and Method: The study is a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The questionnaire and the obesity-specific quality of life scale were used to collect data. Data were obtained from 92 pregnant women who applied to 25 family health centers in Yunusemre and Şehzadeler counties of Manisa province, after the legal permits were obtained from related institutions between 2 may 2017-1 February 2018. Research data, jamovi project (2018). Jamovi (version 0.9.0.3) program was built and evaluated. (p<0.05) Findings: The mean quality of life of obese pregnant women in the study was slightly higher than the mean quality of life of obese women in the study, and there was a statistically significant difference between the three periods (p<0.001). Result: According to the data collected from the participants during their pregnancy, the quality of life was determined to vary among the period of the first, second and third trimester. According to this, the mean quality of life score of 42,27 in the first trimester increased by 4,86 points in the second trimester and the third period showed an increase of 11,93 points. According to the research findings, obese pregnant women have a higher quality of life during pregnancy despite the increase in weight. Key Words: Pregnant, Obesity, Quality Of Life
