Özet (EN)

In this research, the effect of the education of anger management on self- esteem and aggression levels of 5th grade students were reviewed. For this reason, in spring term of 2006-2007 school year, Aggression Scale and Piers-Harris Children?s Self-Concept Scale were applied to 244 students at Buca Primary School in Buca, Izmir. The avarege of the points of Aggression Scale gained from this group was determined and the statement which is ? The aggression level of the students above the avarege is high. ? was accepted. 9 experiment and 9 control groups were formed with the volunteered students by using the randomly choosing method. The anger management education program was applied to the case group for 8 weeks and there was nothing done on control group. After the 8 week education, Aggression Scale and Piers-Harris Children?s Self-Concept Scale were again applied to case and control groups. The difference between the pre-test and the post-test ( development level ) was analized by t test to determine the difference between the results of the pre-test and posttest gained from the case and control groups. According to the results of the research, at the end of the education, it was observed that the aggression level of the students in the group of experiment was lowered and the self-esteem level of the students both the group of experiment and the group of control were no significant difference. As a result, it can be stated that anger management education program affects on aggression level of primary scholl students.
