Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the present study was to examine teachers' attitudes towards female managers. This descriptive research was conducted using mixed methods research design incorporating both quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The sample of the quantitative strand of the study consisted of 511 teachers working at schools located in Akçakale, Eyyübiye, Haliliye and Karaköprü districts of Şanlıurfa province during in the academic year of 2018-2019. Quantitative data regarding teachers' attitudes was gathered via Attitudes towards Woman Administrators by Berkman (2005). The study group of the qualitative strand was composed of 20 teachers where quantitative data were collected. Qualitative data were gathered via semi-structured interviews with primary school teachers. Parametric analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the quantitative data. Qualitative data was analyzed using the content analysis technique. The results of the research showed that teacher attitudes differ significantly according to age and seniority variable and not according to other variables. In the qualitative part, the answers given by the teachers were converted into various codes and some implications were drawn based on the findings of the research.
