Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the media literacy levels of teachers and to examine their relationship with variables such as "gender, age, branch, education level, seniority year, television watching periods, television watching purposes, internet usage periods, internet usage purposes". As an existing situation was tried to be put forward, the descriptive research method was used. The sample of this research is composed of 346 teachers working in secondary schools in the central district of Batman province in 2018-2019 academic year. The data of the study was obtained by using "Media Literacy Level Determination Scale geliştiril developed by Karataş (2008). Descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov Smirnov and Shapiro Wilk tests were used to look at the normality of distributions, T test, Anova test or Mann Whitney U test, Kruskall-Wallis H test were used to analyze the difference between independent variables. The scale used in the study has three sub-dimensions. It was seen that the teachers who participated in the research had "Frequent" level competence in all three dimensions of liği Awareness, Knowledge Ability "," Ability to Analyze, React "and argı Judgment, See Implicit Messages". The media literacy levels of the teachers participating in the research were also found to be "Often". In addition, it was concluded that the media literacy levels of the teachers did not show a significant difference according to gender, age, branch, education level, seniority year, television watching periods, television watching purposes, internet usage purposes, but showed a significant difference according to internet usage periods.
