Abstract (EN)

The quality of education and person reflect a teacher's quality majorly. It can be said that the competence and quality of teachers are closely related with the prosecution and enhancement of teaching profession's respectability as far as it is a need for adaptation to developing world and changing education. Basically, teaching profession general competences point to information, skills and attitudes that teachers need to have. At this point, the objective of this study is to determine perceived self-efficacy levels of teachers within the frame of the renewed teaching profession general competences of teachers. The study was designed appropriate for causal comparative research. The study was carried out with 556 teachers in a district in western blacksea part. Convenience sampling method was used in the study. The frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used in the study. T-test and one-way analysis of variance (anova) were used to determine the differentiations among groups. It was found in the study that teachers perceive themselves as sufficient in all the fields. It was also seen that women teachers perceived themselves more sufficient in assessment and evaluation subarea competence. It was seen that teachers who have more period of service (seniority) perceived themselves more sufficient in branch education knowledge, legislation knowledge, directing the process of teaching - learning and attitudes towards student competences. It was seen that teachers who work in the centre of the district, perceived themselves more sufficient compared with teachers who work in rural areas.
