A mixed research on service leadership behaviors of school principals and teachers' self-efficiencies

The aim of the study was determined as "to reveal the level of relationship between school principals' servant leadership behaviors and teachers' self-efficacy, and to reveal teachers' views on school principals' servant leadership behaviors". In this study, the opinions of 202 teachers working in primary and secondary schools in the Anatolian Side of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year were consulted, and the mixed research method was used. While analyzing the data, explanatory design was preferred. The study group of the quantitative and qualitative method in the research was determined from the easily accessible sample. Data collection tools of the quantitative method were determined as Executive Servant Leadership Scale and Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale. As a qualitative method, data were collected by using a semi-structured interview form in order for teachers to evaluate the servant leadership behaviors of their school principals. Correlation analysis method was preferred as the quantitative method for the analysis of the research data, and the data were evaluated according to the content analysis in the qualitative method. When we evaluate the quantitative and qualitative findings of the study together, according to the teachers, although the relationship between the servant leadership behaviors of school principals and their own self-efficacy is not significant, it is moderate based on the themes of support and community building.
