The effect of the quality of school life of school guidance teachers on their psychological well-being

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF SCHOOL COUNSELORS' QUALİTY OF SCHOOL LİFE ON THEİR PSYCHOLOGİCAL WELL-BEİNG Burak YILMAZ, Master's Thesis Advisor: Prof. Dr. Mustafa BAYRAKCI Sakarya University, 2025. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between school counselors' quality of school life and their psychological well-being. The relational screening model, one of the general screening models, was used in the research. This research was conducted with counselors working in official pre-school, primary school, secondary school and high school levels affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Sakarya province in the 2024-2025 academic year. In this context, the number of counselors working is 470 and it is aimed to reach all of them. However, the research was conducted with 370 guidance counselors. In this study, the criterion-based sampling method, which is included in the purposeful sampling technique, was used. Personal Information Form, School Life Quality Scale (Sarı, 2007) and Psychological Well-Being Scale (Telef, 2013) were used as data collection tools to collect information about teachers' gender, age, marital status, level of employment and length of service in teaching. As a result of the research, when we look at the findings of the relationship between school counselors' perceptions of the quality of school life and the teachers' psychological well-being, we see a positive and significant correlation between the scores they received from the School Life Quality Scale and all sub-dimensions of the scale and the scores they received from the Psychological Well-Being Scale. It was concluded that. It was concluded that if the scores of school counselors on the Quality of School Life Scale and its sub-dimensions increased, the scores of school counselors on the Psychological Well-Being Scale also increased. When we statistically analyze the Psychological Well-Being Scale scores of school counselors' scores from the "perception dimension towards the administrator", "perception dimension towards the teacher", "perception dimension towards the student", "perception dimension towards the school" sub-dimensions in the Quality of School Life Scale, regression analysis It was concluded that the results were significant and predicted positively.
