Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to find out the opinions of school administrators and teachers on social sexism and female administrators' leadership skills. It also aims to determine how female administrators evaluate themselves in terms of leadership skills. To determine school administrators and teachers' views on the leadership skills of women administrators was conducted 17 interviews. 15 interviews were made to determine issues that constitute an obstacle to making school leadership of female administrators and the views of their leadership skills. A total of 32 interviews have been done. Ambivalent Sexism Inventory, which was developed by Glick and Fiske (1996) and adapted to Turkish by Sakallı-Uğurlu (2002) was used in order to reveal the opinions of school administrators and teachers on social sexism and female administrators' leadership skills. The scale was sent to 1500 school administrators and teachers and 1037 of them were replied. 463 scales were elected for some reasons (incomplete replies, same replies to all questions, etc.) and the data obtained from 724 scales were evaluated. The data obtained from the interviews with school administrators and teachers was supported with the participants' statements. The responds given to open-ended interview questions were conceptualized. After coding, themes and child themes were determined. The frequency and percentages of the themes and child themes were analyzed, calculated and interpreted. The analyzes and interpretations of t-test, Variance and Sidak Post-hoc tests conducted through SPSS packaged software were included in the study. Factor analysis was also done. Besides, the results were discussed based upon the results of other researchers' studies and related literature.
