Özet (EN)

The purpose of this research is to reveal the opinions of teachers and school administrators regarding the competencies of school administrators. This research data was collected from school administrators and teachers working in schools affiliated to Hakkari province in the 2023-2024 academic year using the convenience sampling method after obtaining permission from the Hakkari Provincial Directorate of National Education. The School Administrators' Competencies Inventory, updated and finalized by Ağaoğlu, was used as the data collection tool. The scales were sent to schools via an online form and feedback was received from 602 teachers and 514 school administrators. Statistical methods such as arithmetic mean (x̅), standard deviation (ss), percentage, frequency, t-test and Anova test were used in the analysis of the collected data. In the studies, it was found that the scores teachers/administrators received from the School Administrators' Competencies Inventory differed negatively according to the type of duty, both in general and in its sub-dimensions. No statistically significant differences were found according to the type of school they worked at and between seniority groups. It was concluded that there were statistically significant negative differences in all competence dimensions between male and female participants. As a result, the data we obtained show that administrators and teachers have different perceptions of the competence of school administrators, and this difference is significant according to the field of duty.
