Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to identify the opinions of the school counselors and the members of crisis intervention team working in secondary and high schools in Adana with respect to the crisis situations and crisis intervention in their schools. In this study in which qualitative research methods were used, 28 participants including 12 school counselors, 7 deputy heads of crisis intervention teams and 9 teachers in crisis intervention team working in secondary and high schools in 2017-2018 Education year participated in this study. Content analysis was used to analyze the data collected through semi-structured interviews. Results of the study showed that there were deficiencies in the preparatory work related to crisis intervention in schools and the most violent and injuries related to the crisis situations encountered in schools were stated; it was seen that guidance service and school administration were more active in intervention and crisis intervention teams did not have systematic interventions. Most of the participants stated that they did not consider the crisis intervention studies were sufficient in their schools and almost all of them stated that they needed training on this issue.
