Evaluation of teachers' opinions on factors supporting the private schooling fact in early childhood education - The Diyarbakir example

The general aim of this research is to describe the supporting factors of private schooling fact in early childhood education according to different variables regarding to teacher view, only in Diyarbakır city sample. The first section of the research is assigned to the theoretical analysis of a general approach to education, civilization and privatization tendencies in the procedure of education, civilization and privatization in Turkish education system, historical development of early childhood education privatization procedure in Turkish early childhood education and current view of it, theoretical analysis of the factors supporting the fact of private schooling. The second section of the research is focused on hypothesis test that will display the profile of total educational reflections with the view of teachers about factors supporting the fact of private schooling in early childhood education regarding the student, educator, and parent axis.The research includes 91 teachers who work at early childhood education institutes in the educational year of 2007-2008 in Diyarbakır. 24 item-Data Collection Tool developed together with Prof. Dr. Hasan AKGÜNDÜZ is utilized in this research. Firstly, data coming from early childhood education institutes in the region of Central Diyarbakır are recorded; then, these data is analyzed using the software SPSS. Frequency, percentage, distribution and Independents Sample T-Test are used in order to analyze the data. Significance level is taken as 0.05.Critical data achieved through the hypothesis test show that private schooling in early childhood education, seen from the student angle, is a natural search for quality driven by visionary and technological factors; that this search, from the educators? point-of-view, is reduced to a tendency towards economical and social gain; that, from the parents? angle, the rapid increase of women?s role in business life results in the transfer of traditional motherly duties to private schools that are overtaking the role of a baby-sitter through artificial opportunities (e.g. full-day education, different activities), in order to compensate for the gap; that, regarding total educational reflections, teachers are recognizing the education as a pillar of the continuity and survival of societies beyond the dilemma of public vs. civil education and today?s trend towards privatization, and are convinced that persons, living through this experience, will be able to form their social/individual vision of existence; in this context the need for a new education system has arisen in order to create totally natural, free and creative individuals free of all social paradigms, i.e., to provide for the utilization of the total natural human intellect through the transforming power of education.
