Opinions and competences of preschool teachers on environmental education

In this study, the effect of various variables on preschool teachers' environmental interest, attitude and knowledge competencies have been examined. The research was carried out with preschool teachers who are working at Tokat center and its districts at 2016-2017 academic year by using screening model. At the study it was aimed to determine the interest, attitude and knowledge competencies of preschool teachers about environment.. In the data acquisition, a questionnaire consisting of 4 parts was used, including the sensory trends scale, the behavior scale and the environmental information test and the personal information form prepared by the researcher. . The data were evaluated by using descriptive (arithmetic mean, frequency) and relational method according to the problem situations ( cases da olabilir ) discussed in the study. The statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20) was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and simple correlation were used in the analysis of data. According to the findings obtained from the research, there is no meaningful relationship between sensorial tendencies and the scale of knowledge of preschool teachers. Again, there was no meaningful correlation between the behavior scale of preschool teachers and the results of the information scale. There is a positive correlation between the emotional inclinations scale and the behavioral scale. The interest of preschool teachers in environmental education has also been reflected in their attitudes.As a preschool teacher, 324 people participated in the research. When the scores of these individuals were examined, 63% of pre-school teachers scored above average, while 37% scored below average. On the scale of sensory trends, 52% of the Group received points on average and 48% received points below average. On the environmental behavior scale, the percentage distribution of the Group is semi-half according to the average.
