Abstract (EN)
In this study, data from the 2024 growing season were analyzed as part of the first year of the second phase of the clonal selection program for the Öküzgözü (Vitis vinifera L.) grape variety, established in 2016 at the Viticulture Research and Application Area of Dicle University Faculty of Agriculture. The aim was to identify superior quality clones. The trial consisted of 26 clone candidates, each replicated three times. All parameters in this study were calculated based on the average of 12 vines (4 vines per replicate across 3 replicates), totaling data from 312 vines. The research involved analyses of phenological observations (pruning, budburst, flowering, fruit set, veraison, and harvest), yield parameters (yield per vine, number of shoots and clusters, number of clusters per shoot), and quality parameters (pH, soluble solids content, tartaric acid, cluster and berry weight, berry volume, berry size, and juice yield). The average phenological development stage was calculated as 186 days, with no significant differences observed among clones. In yield analyses, clones EÜ54 (4516.46 g/vine), EDK1 (4310.83 g/vine), and ET24 (4112.50 g/vine) exhibited the highest vine yields. Regarding quality analyses, EDK1, ET17, and ET24 stood out with a pH of 4.02; ET5 showed prominent results in soluble solids content (23.41%), 100-berry weight (303.83 g), and 100-berry volume (284.17 ml); EB15 had the highest tartaric acid content (8.92 g/L); and ED2 had the highest juice yield (70.25%). While there were no statistically significant differences among clones in pruning residue and cluster weight analyses, other parameters showed significant differences (p<0.001). This study aims to contribute to the identification of high-yielding, high-quality, and superior Öküzgözü grape clones, thereby providing a scientific basis for future research supporting sustainable viticulture practices.
