Omafriends: Developing a social network software tool

Social networks are one of the newest and most common tools of technology that people are using to connect with each other and see others' activities. It can be used for business purposes because large companies can advertise their products, which can be seen by a huge number of users. This thesis discusses some important social network aspects and reviews the history of social networks beginning in the 1960s. We also focus on some important issues regarding social networks, such as security and privacy, that users might face because many of them are unaware of the risks. Concerning security, we used some tools such as JQuery validation and Re-Captcha inside register form to check the entered data and prevents robots from submitting the form. In addition, we protected our web application system from SQL Injection attack. In privacy all users email is hidden, and we mentioned two types of groups: public and private. In public group all users can see all the contents without joining the group while in private only group members can see the contents. In this thesis a social network that includes all the characteristics is created and it is named "Developing a Secure Social Network Software"
