Abstract (EN)
Onobrychis silvanensis sp. nov. (Fabaceae), which constitutes the material of this study, is endemic and was collected for the first time from Diyarbakır (Silvan). Antimicrobial, antioxidant and phenolic compounds of the species were investigated. For this purpose, plant extract was tested against 2 gram (+) (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes), 2 gram (-) (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aurogenes) bacteria and Candida albicans fungus, phenolic content and antioxidant capacity were measured. Total phenolic content was measured spectrophotometrically and analytical method validation parameter of LC-MS/MS method was used. DPPH method and CUPRAC method were used for total antioxidant capacity measurement. Antimicrobial activity was determined using MIC microdilution method. The ethanolic extracts of O. silvanensis showed high antimicrobial activity against the test microorganisms. It is thought that the study and results presented here will contribute significantly to the literature since it is an endemic species and these are the first records.
