Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT Continuous evolution and developments in today's World has made the subject of vision a much debated issue in management science literature. There are a few definitions of vision in the sense of encompassing the future of organizations or preparations for the future of organizations. Studies on how to develop vision, how to communicate it, how to renew it, and how to sustain it are rather new. The vision is progressively asserting itself as an indispensable concept of management science, and it is becoming a subject of growing interest among scholars. Organizations noticing the importance of vision in success have also a growing interest in the concept. This study is prepared as a Master of Science thesis and deals with the concept of vision, its components, its properties, its background, and types of it, in the first part. Additionally, base values of vision, modern definition of organization, the mission concept in setting the targets of organization, resource management, and identification of strategy are studied in detail. In the second part of the thesis, required preliminary work in attaining a shared vision of organization, and obstacles in front of such a target, the importance of having a shared vision in an organization, and exemplary visionary organizations are studied. This part also contains the stages of vision development, vision propagation, and steps in attaining a shared vision. Third and final part of the thesis studies types of leadership such as transformational, charismatic and visionary, and their relations with the vision.
