Abstract (EN)

Organizational justice and organizational commitment have become one of the most investigated subjects in the fields of organizational behavior and management in recent years. Many studies have revealed that organizational justice is one of the most determinant factors affecting organizational commitment. This study investigates the relationship between academic staff?s organizational perceptions and their organizational commitment by a survey that was conducted during the first half of 2010-2011 academic year to 308 members of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University?s academic staff.Obtained data of the survey have been analyzed by using SPSS (software version 17.0 for Windows. Besides descriptive statistical methods such as frequency, percentage, standart deviation, mean value, other tests such as one-way variance test and t-test have also been used in the evaluation of the data. Correlation analysis has been used in order to test the relationships between organizational justice and organizational commitment. All the scales used in this study have been tested with regard to their reliabilities by using Cronbach Alpha coefficients. As a result of the study conducted over the academic staff, statistically significant, positive and poor relationship was found among organizational justice?s three sub-dimension that are distributive justice, procedural justice and interactional justice and the organizational commitment?s sub-dimensions that are affective and normative commitment. However, no significant relationship was found between continuance commitment, another sub-dimension of organizational commitment and organizational justice perceptions. Moreover, mentioned sub-dimensions of organizational justice and commitment have been investigated whether or not they differ according to academic title and the register of academic personnel such as previous discipline or reward incidents and a significant relationship was found between interactive justice and getting a punishment as a result of a discipline case.
