Organizational justice and trust perceptions in organizational subcultures

Abstract (EN)

Following the view that organizations have different subcultures as well as organization-wide values and norms, the study aims to examine how organizational justice and trust among employees vary by different organizational subcultures.The data used for the research is collected by conducting a survey from 924 white and blue collar employees of a large manufacturing company in Adana. The cluster analysis on five cultural dimensions, which are proffesionalism, hierarchy orientation, clan orientation, support orientation and innovation orientation, brought out four subcultures identified as pragmatic subculture, power subculture, passive subculture, and indefinite subculture. It has been found that justice perceptions in pragmatic culture is higher than in any other subcultures whereas trust perceptions in power culture is higher than in any other subcultures. Implications of the research results for the literature on organizational subcultures, organizational justice and trust are also discussed.Keywords: Subcultures, organizational culture, organizational justice, organizational trust, cluster analysis.
