Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the perceptions of teachers about organizational flattery and nepotism. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in the official primary and secondary schools located in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon Province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study where relational screening model was used, 318 teachers working in 19 schools who were selected by non-selective sampling method were included in the sample group. The data required for the research were obtained by using the "Flattery Scale", "Nepotism Scale in School Administration" and "Personal Information Form". SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs were used in the analysis of the data. In order to analyze the distribution of the teachers participating in the study according to certain variables, percentage and frequency; t-test and ANOVA were performed to determine whether the views of the teachers differed according to these variables. In addition, the validity of the scales was tested with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and correlation analysis was used to reveal the relationship between the concepts of flattery and nepotism. It was concluded that the perceptions of flattery of the teachers participating in the study did not differ in the total and executive-oriented, co-worker-oriented subdimensions of flattery according to gender, age, school type, branch, professional seniority, length of service at the school studied and variables of union membership. It was concluded that the nepotism perceptions of the teachers participating in the study did not differ in the sum of the scale according to age, professional seniority, type of school studied and union membership variables, but they differed significantly according to gender, branch and school type variables. In the study, it was found that teachers did not have a perception of flattery, and their perception of nepotism was at a low level, and a low level of positive significant relationship was also found between flattery and nepotism.
