Abstract (EN)

Organizational silence, defined as the avoidance of expressing employees' opinions and suggestions within the organization, is considered an important factor that can weaken the level of commitment in academic institutions. In this research, the relationship between organizational silence and organizational commitment was examined on the sample of academics at Firat University. In this context, the research analyzed the types of organizational silence (accepting, protective, protective) and their causes, and revealed the effects of silence behaviors on the organizational commitment level of academics. The research was conducted with a quantitative design using a relational scanning model. The population of the research consists of a total of 1,878 academics working at Fırat University in the 2024-2025 academic year. The sample consists of 393 academics who filled out the survey forms completely. The data were collected using a personal information form and organizational silence and organizational commitment scales, and the analyses were performed using the SPSS 22.0 package program.
