Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to make the comparative analyzes ofhotels with and without Certificate of Quality System(ISO 9001) in terms of organizational stress level. A study on literature was held in accordance with this key objective and the concept of organisational stress was explained in the first chapter. In the second chapter, theoretical information on the notion of quality, the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, and the licensing issues were addressed. The third chapter is a review of the literature on the relationship of organisational stress factors and quality management system. In the fourth chapter of the study, the methodology was introduced and the survey was conducted in four and five star hotels in Izmir. The questionnaire was designed in line with Aydın's (2004) study The reliability analysis of the questionnaire was conducted and the alpha score of .93 was obtained which corresponds to a high value. The factor analysis held in this study revealed that organisational stress factors had four dimensions rather than five as suggested in the literature. Research hypotheses were tested based on the data collected through survey. According to the findings, there isn't a statistically meaningful difference between organizational stress factors and the variable of having a quality certificate except the stress dimension stemmed from organizational politics.A statistically meaningful difference was found between demographic variables (such as gender and marital status) and several dimensions of organisational stress in the comparative analyses. Keywords: Quality, ISO 9001, Quality Certificate, Organisational Stress.
