Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this work is evaluate the problem of evil, which has been taken up in many aspects in the history of thought, within the framework of the views of Origenes, one of the representatives of the Patristic philosophy, and Avicenna, the philosopher of Islamic philosophy. In addition, this study aims to show that using a comparison method, the consideration of cultures, geographies and historical conditions in a research on the problem of evil will lead to a different view on the subject. In this research, the conceptual and historical background of the evil has been put forward in order to better understand the thoughts and theories of Origenes and Avicenna's problem of evil. Then, Origenes and Avicenna's assessment of the problem of evil were examined in detail, taking into account their views on grace, divine justice, free will and eschatology, and then the similarities and differences between these views were determined. As a result, the concrete contribution of comparison in the study of the history of philosophy has been directly observed in this study and the thoughts about this point have been conveyed.
