Determination of canonic correlation among characteristics of local dry beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes collected from Middle Kizilirmak valley

Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine some agronomic characters and the relations between these characters on local dry bean genotypes collected from Orta Kızılırmak Valley. This study was conducted in Kırşehir ecological conditions. A total of 246 genotypes were collected from 8 different cities and cultivated in augmented trial design. The plant height, the first pod height, the number of pods per plant and the number of seeds per pod were taken as independent variables, while the yield per plant, yield per plant, weight of pod and length of pod were dependent variables. Thus, canonical correlations between the two sets were made. As a result of the study, the local dry bean genotypes; the length of the plant is 31.6-193.2 cm, the length of the first pod is 5.4-82.2 cm, the number of pods is 5-87, the number of pods is 1-6, the weight of a hundred is 18.3-53.6 g , the yield per plant was found to be 3,0-96,8 g, the weight of pods was 0,7-3,5 g, and the length of pods was 3,1-12,3 cm. As a result; According to the Pearson correlation analysis, there was a very significant negative correlation between the number of grains per 100 trees and the weight of one hundred trees (-0,31 **), and a very significant positive correlation between the number of beans per plant and yield per plant (0,81 **). According to the canonical correlation analysis, it was determined that the share of plant height in independent variables was 31.6% and that of one hundred grains in dependent variables was 26.4%.
