A mixed study on the investigation of organizational virtue in high school institutions

The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of teachers working in high school institutions about organizational virtue, and to determine the things that have been done and wanted to be done about organizational virtue according to the teachers' views. In this study, a mixed method, which combines quantitative and qualitative research, was used. After the qualitative interview questions were prepared and analyzed according to the results of the analysis of the quantitatively collected data, the results were handled and evaluated in a holistic framework. The sample of the research consists of teachers working in high school institutions in Gaziantep province, Şahinbey and Şehitkamil central districts in the 2019-2020 academic year. Random cluster sampling method was used in the quantitative dimension of the study. In the qualitative aspect of the research, participants working in high schools in Gaziantep province, Şahinbey and Şehitkamil central districts in the 2021-2022 academic year were selected by purposive sampling method. As a result of the data obtained from the organizational virtue scale, it was determined that teachers' organizational virtuous perceptions were at a high level. In the study, practices related to organizational virtue in schools; meetings and negotiations, positive and level communication, encouraging attitude of the administration. The applications that teachers want to be made are; excursions and activities, rewarding and encouraging, setting an example for each other. In the results of working; It has been determined that school management is effective in teachers' opinions about organizational virtue. Strengthening the communication between the school management and employees, increasing the activities, rewards and incentives, the school administration's care about being fair and setting an example to its employees will increase the organizational virtue in schools. Studies on organizational virtuousness can also be conducted at other school levels.
