Internet dependency of secondery school students, bullying and against the computer the virtual examination of attitudes in terms of different variables

ABSTRACT Internet Dependency Of Secondery School Students, Bullying And Against The Computer The Virtual Examination Of Attitudes In Terms Of Different Variables Analysis of Secondary Shool Students? Internet Addiction, virtual-bullying and Attittudes toward computer in terms of different variables. The aim of this study is to determine the 9th, 10th and 11th grades of secondary school students? level of the internet addiction and being virtual bully, and to determine the level of their attitudes to computers. The research is a descriptive and quantitative study that is carried out screening model. The research data were collected from the 976 students of 9th,10th and11th grades of 16 schools in the center of Kırşehir under Ministry of Education. In research, the personal information form, the internet addiction scale, the virtual bully/victim scale, and the computer attitude scale were used for the data collection tool. On the data collected from the students, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, independent samples, factor analysis, analysis of variance and LSD tests were applied. At the end of the research; 1. Secondary school student sare addicted to internet. 2. There are internet differance in favor of girls of secondary school students and the boys are more addicted to the internet than girls. 3. Levels of internet dependency of secondary school students differs according to the nature of the school, the level of the class, the aim of the usage of internet, the presence of the internet at home and the level of the usage of internet. 4. This is a positive and significant relationship between the frequency and the experience of internet use and the level of dependence on the internet. 5. The level of secondary school students? virtual bully/victim is very low. 6. There are significant differences in the level of students? virtual bully/victim according to their nature of school, the aim and the level of the usage of the computer, the experience of using internet. 7. Students show a highly positive attitude toward computer 8. There are significant differences in the level of students? virtual bully/victim according to the their gender, the nature of school, the level of class, the level of the usage of the computer, the condition of being participate in a computer course, the level of academic achievement. Based on the research results, it is proposed to study for reduction of the students? internet addiction and being virtual bully and to make different studies for the determination of other variables that is effective on the positive usage of computer and internet.
