Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the study is to determine the teachers' and administrators' perception of the quality of education in secondary schools. The collection of data was obtained from the relevant literature. In addition, the survey was conducted. The survey consists of the three inquiries about personal information, and forty questions intended to determine personal vision including the perception of the school quality. Surveys were applied to 602 employees working in 19 secondary education establishments of Beylikdüzü; including 11 public and 8 private schools. The data obtained from the questionnaires were evaluated by SPSS 21 software. As a result, it was established that the teachers and administrators participating in the research have similar views of the school quality and have theoretical knowledge and perception related to the subdimensions of a quality school. However, when the schools are examined in their current status, it has been observed that this information remains theoretical and not being fully applied. The reasons for that are the following: decisions regarding the educational activities are made by the center; the educational programs are conducted by the personnel who were appointed by the center, and the educational system lacks the flexibility which doesn't let anything but predetermined decisions. This research, being one of the important factors in the education system, is expected to contribute to place the quality of education to secondary education establishments.
