This study investigates the 7th grade secondary school students? transferring rational numbers topics into everyday life problem solving. The participants of the study designed as action research are 202 ,7th grade students chosen in Center of Elazığ KOÇ Secondary School and Tevfik Yaramanoğlu Secondary School in the academic year 2012?2013. The data were collected through the ?Placement Test?s (SBS) questions and Rational Numbers Transfer Test(RSTT) developed by the researcher.The data was evaluated in two phases. Relationship between the Placement test and rational numbers transfer test scores were evaluated in the first phase while the second phase aimed at identifying the level of transferring rational numbers topics into everyday life problem solving.Analysis results indicate that there is a positive, significant, and medium-level relationship between placement and transfer test scores. In the second stage, students? responses to the rational numbers transfer test ?WHY A/B/C/D?? were examined in four categories. As a result of all these studies, it is concluded that the level of the students? transferring rational numbers topics into everyday life problem solving is moderate level.
