Evoluation of school principals of elementary schools in terms of teacher view about the supervision of the lessons

Through this research, evaluating the school principals' attitude and behavior against the supervision of the lessons based on qualitative and quantitate findings, analyzing in terms of various changeables and obtaining thorough information about the subject according to the teachers' perception and opinions are aimed. The research is formed according to the mixed method. In this regard, parallel design is used in which qualitative and quantitative data isstored simultaneously. In the quantitative part of the research, survey method is used, and in the qualitative is used case study method. On the quantitative part of the research, the population consists of 747 teachers who work for all the elementary schools at the city center and the districts of Iğdır in the 2017-2018 Academic year. In this research the sampling method was not preferred, instead data collection tool was applied to all the elementary teachers in the cities and the districts. On the qualitative part of the research, maximum variation sampling method is used which is one of purposeful sampling methods. With respect to it, criterions like gender and the number of the teachers in the cities and the districts were taken into consideration while determining the participants and 20 teachers are taken into sampling on the same population. In the quantitative part of the research, descriptive survey method is used which is a type of survey method, "Teachers' Opinions Scale" which is developed by Fırıncıoğulları Bige (2014) is used with permission to gather the data. Moreover, personal information form is used to identify the demographic features belonging to the teachers who attended the research. On the other hand, qualitative data is gathered through "Teacher Interview Form" which consists of half structured open-ended questions. The order and style of the four questions with two titles asked during the interview were determined in advance, the same basic questions are asked to the teachers with the same order. For quantitative data, ANOVA Test, and T-Test are used to identify whether the opinions of the teachers about the subject of the research show rational difference or not according to the demographic variables. And to determine the source of the difference, Scheffe test is used. In the quantitative part of the research, survey method is used and in the qualitative part of the research, case study research method is used. The opinions of the teachers participating in the research about the supervision of their school principals is found out to be "low level" positive in general.
