Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research, based on Holland's Personality Theories, is to develop the Visual Vocational Interest Inventory to help secondary school students recognize their vocational interests. Since the existing interest inventories cannot be applied to students who do not speak Turkish, it is aimed that the Visual Vocational Interest Inventory is applicable to all students. In this research, a written vocational interest inventory was developed which matches the pictures in the visual inventory. Inventory forms were applied to 310 secondary school students in the 2019-2020 academic year in Gaziantep. The validity of the structure, content and similar scales regarding the validity of the data obtained from the inventory were examined. Six components with the highest load were determined by analyzing the main components for each dimension of visual and written inventory. Whether the six personality types obtained with total scores for visual inventory are ranked according to the theoretically predicted hexagonal model was examined using multi-dimensional scaling, cyclic analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The positions of personality types were found to differ from the hexagonal model predicted theoretically. Pearson correlation coefficients between the dimensions of visual and written inventories are between .62 and .81. The Omega reliability coefficients of the measurements obtained from the inventories were found between .51 and .60 for the sub-dimensions. As a result of the research, the Visual Vocational Interest Inventory was prepared in 6 dimensions and consisting of 36 items. After the application, the respondent receives a report on the personality code and results. Keywords: interest, personality, education, vocational guidance, career counseling
