Justice, honesty, respect, responsibility and peace values perceptions of secondary school students (Example of Diyarbakir)

In this study, "justice", "honesty", "respect", "responsibility" and "peace" values perceptions of secondary school students and whether perceptions changes in terms of class and gender has been investigated. Research data is provided through a questionnaire and content analysis technique was used in the study. In the survey form, after describing students' gender, age, class and parents' educational level, they were asked to write their assessment of these five values. Assessments of the values were categorized under headings based on the expert opinion. Categories are treated to IBM SPSS percentages and values related to the frequency of such percentage are determined. The research is qualitative and scanning model. The study group is consisted from 572 students who going to five different secondary schools, 5, 6, 7 and 8 grade students in Diyarbakir. These schools were chosen for the study according to the social and economic factors by researchers. Totally, 321 female and 251 male students participated in the study. At the end of the research it was observed that, in their assessements, participants mostly decribed justice as "equality";honesty as "truth or not to lie"; respect as "obedience to elders"; responsibility as "to fulfill the missions"; and peace as "not to be offended or not to fight".
