Physical education and sport cours of secondary school students opinions

The aim of this study is to evaluate the achievement levels of physical education and sports lessons taught in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in terms of students. Research is a research in the survey model. The screening model is a research approach that aims to define a situation that exists in the past or at the moment as it is. The population of the study consisted of the students who were studying in the 8th grade of secondary education in the city center of Burdur province in 2017-2018 academic year and the sample was composed of 415 students chosen by chance from these students. Survey method was used to obtain the data. The comprehensibility, scope validity and reliability of the survey were provided. Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient was found to be 0.97. The questionnaires were filled with one-to-one interviews with the participants. In this way, a total of 415 individuals, 208 women and 207 men, responded to the questionnaires. The data obtained were transferred to the appropriate statistics program for evaluation. Frequency (%) distribution, cross table (crosstab) and chi-square X2 tests were applied as statistical process. According to the results of the study, although there are some positive differences in the significance level of 0.05 according to gender and school place variables of physical education and sports course, we can say that it reached its aim in general.
