Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of secondary school students' interest in physical education and sports lessons on physical education and sports values. In this context, this study was carried out with 407 secondary school students in Kastamonu Province and Taşköprü District of the Ministry of National Education. The research sample was determined by using random and convenient sampling method. The research was organized on the basis of the survey method, which is one of the quantitative research approaches. For this purpose, the relational survey method, which is a sub-type of the survey method, was used. In the study, two scales with validity and reliability in the literature were used as data collection tools. In addition, necessary examinations were made by taking into account the various demographic characteristics of the participants. Research data were subjected to quantitative data analysis. Application data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 program. Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Test were used because the research findings did not show normal distribution. Spearman Rank Differences Correlation calculation was preferred because the findings were not normally distributed in the correlation analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that secondary school students' interest in physical education and sports lessons has a positive and significant relationship with the value they show to physical education and sports lessons.
