Investigation of secondary school students evaluation of free time according to some variables (Example of Çameli district)

It is aimed to evaluate the free time preferences of secondary school students in terms of some variables in this study. Research is a research in the survey model. The survey model is a research approach that aims to define a situation that exists in the past or at the moment as it is. The population of the study consisted of the students who were studying in the of secondary education in the center of Çameli district of Denizli province in 2018-2019 academic year and the sample was composed of 204 students chosen by chance from these students. The questionnaire developed by the researcher was used by taking the opinions of sports scientists and measurement and evaluation experts as a data collection tool in the research. The questionnaire consisted of open and closed-ended questions and multiple choice questions to determine participants' free time preferences. The questionnaires were filled with one-to-one interviews with the participants. In this way, a total of 204 individuals, 107 women and 97 men, responded to the questionnaires. The data obtained were transferred to the appropriate statistics program for evaluation. Frequency (%) distribution and cross table (crosstab) were applied as statistical process. As a result of the research, the most preferred activities of the participants watching television, listening to music, reading books, least preferred activities; reading newspaper-magazine, going to cinema-theater were determined as. According to the variables of gender and place of residence, we can say that the views of the participants are mostly similar.
