Entrepreneurhip qualification of secondary school student

The main purpose of this study is to put forward the level of entrepreneurial competence of secondary school students and to determine whether the level of entrepreneurial proficiency of secondary school students differ in terms of various demographic variables. In this study, relational screening model and single screening model as quantitative research methods were used. The research sample includes a total of 356 secondary school students studying in the central district of a city in East Marmara Region. The data were collected with the "ASTEE-Entrepreneurship Scale" which was adapted in Turkish before. As the first version of the assessment tool was prepared for primary students, confirmatory factor analysis was reconducted. Thedata which doesn't have normal dispersion was analyzed by Mann-Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis tests. Bonferroni correction was used. The findings of the study show the level of entrepreneurial competence of secondary school students in the agree level in terms of total tests and sub factors. The levels of entrepreneurial competence of secondary school students do not differ significantly in terms of gender of the students, but entrepreneurial competence level of female students is higher than male students whereas the entrepreneurial attitude of male students is higher than female students. The level of entrepreneurial competence of secondary school students does not differ significantly between their relatives and acquaintances in terms of whether or not they have found their own vi business. However, students who have found their own business amongrelatives and acquaintances have higher scores. Entrepreneurial competence levels of secondary school students don't differ significantly in terms of the education level of fathers in all sub dimensions. Entrepreneurial competence levels of secondary school students don't differ significantly in terms of the education level of mothers in sub dimension. Entrepreneurial proficiency levels of secondary school students don't differ significantly in terms of the sectors in which mothers work in all sub dimensions. Entrepreneurial competence levels of secondary school students differ significantly in terms of their status of taking duties and responsibilities in any scientific, artistic, sporting, cultural activities, and the level of entrepreneurial competence of students taking role-responsibility is significantly higher. Entrepreneurial proficiency levels of secondary school students differ significantly in terms of class levels. The entrepreneurial proficiency level of Grade 7 is higher than Grade 6, the entrepreneurial proficiency level of Grade 8 is higher than Grade 6, the entrepreneurial proficiency level of Grade 6 is higher than Grade 5. Entrepreneurial competency levels and entrepreneurial intention of secondary school students differ significantly for the students whose families have more than 7000 Turkish liras monthly average income. Entrepreneurial knowledge of students differ significantly for those whose family income is 4001-7000 Turkish Liras whereas it doesn't differ significantly in terms of entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial competency. Entrepreneurship proficiency levels of secondary school students differ significantly according to the sector in which their fathers work. Entrepreneurship competency level of the students whose father works in private sector differs significantly and the entrepreneurship competency level of the students whose father sets sup his own business in terms entrepreneurial attitude and competency differs significantly. In terms of entrepreneurial attiude and education, the way that fathers of secondary students work differ significantly. In all sub dimensions, the entrepreneurial proficiency of the students whose father doesn't work are at the lowest entrepreneurship level. According to the results of the study, this study was conducted in the central district of a city in East Marmara. Richer data can be obtained by working with vii broader sample groups in different levels for different studies. In order to show that gender difference isn't a factor that affects entrepreneurship, qualitative research can be conducted with only male or female entrepreneurs. Studies can be carried out with students who take part only in social and sporting activities at schools. In order to determine the contribution of entrepreneurshipeducation at schools to the entrepreneurial proficiency level of students, comparative studies can be conducted between the students who take entrepreneurship lessons at schools and the students who don't take entrepreneurship lessons at schools.
