Investigations on the music and listening preferences of secondary school students: Diyarbakir/Hani̇ example

The main goal of this research, Examine the music enjoyment of middle school students according to the variables such as sex . For this purpose, through expert opinions, a total of 301 students who are studying at 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels in four randomly chosen schools of secondary education, which provide general music education in the province of Diyarbakır Hani in 2012-2013 academic year, Music Rating and Preference 'questionnaire prepared Through the data obtained from this questionnaire the middle school students who are educated in Hani is tried to determine according to variables preferences regarding different musical genres, gender, mass media that they listen to music. Questionnaires applied to the participant are the result of the obtained data, is computerised by coding and this data transferred to the computer environment is analyzes by using SPSS 18 programs.Percentage, tests were used in interpreting the findings obtained from the research. As a result of the research, students reached the result of choosing arabesque music and various suggestions are arranged in the direction of the achieved results.
