The relationship between secondary students' number sense and calculation skills

It is the ability to internalize the sense of numbers, their minds and behaviors in their mind. Calculation skill, on the other hand, is the student's basic acquisition of mathematics, the ability to have four operations. It does not include the number of middle school students and considers the relationship between feeling and computational skills. While the Calculation Skill Test was administered to 188 students, the Number Sense Test was administered to 169 students. The Calculation Skill Test consists of 20 questions based on the use of paper and pencil, and the Number Sense Test consists of 40 questions based on mental processing solutions without using paper and pencil. The Calculation Skill Test was administered first, and the Number Sense Test one week later. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. According to the results obtained, both the calculation skills and the number of secondary school students' test scores are low. While no significant relationship was found between calculation skill and gender, a comprehensive relationship was obtained between achievement level and grade level. So much so that student success calculation skill test scores can also be obtained. While there is no relationship between number sense experience and gender and achievement level, there is a significant relationship between number sense and grade level.
