Houthis in terms of the outcomes, beliefs and their effects on Yemen politics

In this thesis, the emergence of the Hûsî movement, which took over the government in a coup in 2014 in Yemen, its beliefs and its effects on Yemeni politics are discussed. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the effects of sectarian differences on the political, social and economic life of a country, based on the example of Hûsi. One of the factors that affect the society the most, from the administration to the bazaar-market in Yemen in particular and in other countries of the Middle East in general, is religious/sectarian differences. One of the best examples of the sectarian-government relations, which are clearly decisive in the politics and social structures of the Middle East, is the Hûsî movement. It is important to understand the Yemen war, which has been defined as the ShiiteSunni struggle by some media and academia since its first emergence, and the Houthis, one of the most important actors of this war, in order to understand the extent of the effects of sectarian differences in the Middle East geography. In addition, in our thesis, it has been tried to reveal how the global and regional powers are waging a proxy war by using the sectarian card in the Middle East, through the example of Hûsi.
